Inferno
ELISION Ensemble, Carl ROSMAN conductor
Deborah KAYSER soprano

This performance forms another element to ELISION's participation
within the Third Asia-Pacific Triennial.
It references the 1997 PACIFICA and 1998 Strange Customs
concerts in
looking at recent composition emerging from the Pacific Rim, in particular
work that is a creative response to extramusical forms both literary
and visual. These influences range from Japanese haiku to the
Inferno of Dante, to ritual Chinese street opera.
