Pro Musica Nova, Bremen

Radio Bremen's Pro Musica Nova Festival presents the German premiere of Opening of the Mouth. ELISION's second visit to Radio Bremen also provides ELISION with the opportunity to record for later broadcast several Australian works by composers Michael SMETANIN, Adam YEE, David YOUNG and Liza LIM. (ELISION's first visit in 1996 was a portrait concert of the music of Liza LIM).

This will be the German premiere of the major new work by composer Richard BARRETT, Opening of the Mouth, which was premeried in 1997 by ELISION Ensemble at the The Festival of Perth.

Presented in concert form, this performance will feature the original performers Deborah KAYSER soprano, Ute WASSERMANN mezzo-soprano, Paula RAE flutes, Carl ROSMAN clarinets, Denise WAMBSGANß mandolins, Daryl BUCKLEY and Geoffrey MORRIS guitars, Satsuki ODAMURA kotos, Mary OLIVER violins/hardanger fiddle, Friedrich GAUWERKY violoncello, Peter NEVILLE percussion, Richard BARRETT sound artist.

The performance will be directed by young Australian conductor Simon HEWETT.

Broadcast Recordings

ELISION Ensemble will also record a programme of new Australian works for later broadcast on Radio Bremen.
