ELISION Ensemble, Christian EGGEN guest conductor

ELISION Ensemble is joined by guests Christian EGGEN conductor, Mary OLIVER viola, MIN Young-Chi taegum, Yasutaka HEMMI violin, and Yasuaki ITAKURA and Nicholas MURPHY clarinet, as well as composer Akira NISHIMURA (Japan), in presenting PACIFICA, a concert of new music from Japan, Korea, the United States, and Australia--from the Pacific Rim.

Brian FERNEYHOUGH Incipits (1996): solo viola and obligato percussion, flute/piccolo, clarinet/bass clarinet, violin I, violin II, violoncello, contrabass
Liza LIM PERTH (initiation) (1997): flute, percussion
Akira NISHIMURA River of Karuna II (1997): flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin I, violin II, viola, violoncello, contrabass
David YOUNG Rent (1996/7): alto flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet in C, trombone, percussion, violin, viola, contrabass
