ELISION is pleased to be able to represent Australia at the
International Society of Contemporary Music (ISCM)
World Music Days 1997, to be held in Seoul, Korea during September and October.
ELISION Ensemble, conducted by young Australian conductor Simon HEWETT,
will present one concert only at the Namyangju Duomul Workshop.
Our programme comprises
two ensemble works featuring voice (Liza LIM's Voodoo Child and
Brian FERNEYHOUGH's recent On Stellar Magnitudes) coupled with
three solo and small ensemble pieces, including works by young Australian
composer David YOUNG and Korean composer YI Manbang.

The ISCM World Music Days
ISCM World Music Days is an international festival whose charter is to
present the most recent developments in the work of contemporary composers
from all over the world. Each year the festival is held in a different city.
In September/October 1997 the festival will be held in Seoul. During the
festival's eight days and nights of concerts and events the latest
symphonic works,
chamber music, music theatre, sound installations, electro-acoustic and
interactive computer music will be presented at various locations throughout
the Seoul metropolitan area. The Program includes works by
composers from 40
countries on five continents. The music will be performed by leading Korean
ensembles, soloists and conductors as well as international guest performers.
During the festival, seminars focusing on human voice in contemporary music
will be featured.
