Rosanne HUNT violoncello
Rosanne Hunt began cello studies with her mother,
Marianne HUNT, and continued with Christian WOJTOWICZ
in Hobart, Anner BIJLSMA in The Hague, and -- with the help of an
Ian Potter Foundation grant -- with Irene SHARP in San Francisco.
Her eclectic freelance life takes her from early music projects
with the period instrument ensemble Arcadia, to new music with the
ELISION Ensemble, chamber operas with Melbourne's
Chamber Made Opera, and contemporary indigenous music with
Richard FRANKLAND's The Charcoal Club.
She has played with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, provided
continuo cello in Mozart and Handel operas for Opera Australia, and
played in the principal cello chair for the Australian Brandenburg
Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony, Australian Pops Orchestra and
Orchestra Victoria.
She recently took part in the recording of new chamber works by
Brian FERNEYHOUGH with ELISION, and in January played in the Sydney
Festival's twelve cello concert, 12 Angry Cellos.
Upcoming engagements include the performance of a new solo cello work by
Liza LIM
alongside the work of urban indigenous visual artist Judy WATSON in
a project inspired by the Glasshouse Mountains, and an ABC Classics
recording of Biber's Mystery Sonatas with
Elizabeth WALLFISCH.
