Andrew EVANS trumpet
Andrew Evans was born in Hobart and studied trumpet at
The University of Tasmania,
and the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. Andrew has performed
as soloist with the Tasmanian and Western Australian
Symphony Orchestras as
well as Guest Principal with the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony
Orchestras.
In 1989 Andrew was awarded a German Government Scholarship to study in
Berlin with Konradin GROTH and was engaged to perform with the
Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for the Salzburg Easter Festival.
In 1992 Andrew gave the Australian premiere of Short for solo
trumpet by Franco DONATONI. Other solo performances include
Echo III by Roger SMALLEY, Joseph HAYDN's
Trumpet Concerto and Brandenberg Concerto No. 2
by Bach.
Andrew is a freelance musician based in Melbourne.
