John RODGERS
John Rodgers is an improvisor, performer and composer.
He has composed several works for the Australian Art Orchestra
including Passion and Moras
both of which were performed at the 1998 Adelaide Festival, and also for
performers such as Anthony BURR and Ken EDIE.
He has worked extensively in the area of music theatre collaborating with
Neil ARMFIELD (A Cheery Soul, Hamlet),
Wesley ENOCH (The Sunshine Club, a musical for the
Queensland Theatre Company), Christine JOHNSON
(Radiance for Kooemba Jdarra Productions) and
Liza NAVRATIL (Hostage of Fortune).
He is a member of improvising ensembles Bark, Artisan's Workshop,
The John Rodgers Trio, the ELISION contemporary
music ensemble and the Australian Art Orchestra.
John has appeared as a violin soloist with the Queensland Philharmonic
and Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony and Hunter Orchestra and is a member of
Robyn ARCHER's band for international tours.
His CD A Rose is a Rose is released on Extreme Records.
