Since April 1996, as the result of an initiative from the Vice Chancellor
John HAY, the artistic administration of ELISION has been based at the
School of Music, The University of Queensland. ELISION also maintains an administrative base
in Melbourne, thereby enhancing its national operations.
ELISION represents the University, nationally and internationally, through
concerts, seminars and publications, and the ensemble is building strong
connections to the critical, academic, and visual arts fraternity of Brisbane.
The University of Queensland provides ELISION with the opportunity to re-invest the ensemble's
skills and experience in Australian contemporary music into the tertiary
education sector. The University provides the administrative and
communications base necessary for the running of a national and international
ensemble.
ELISION, however, remains an separate incorporated body responsible for
its own management and artistic direction.
