Peter Veale has been a member of ELISION Ensemble since 2005 and has premiered music by Liza Lim, Brian Ferneyhough, James Dillon, Dominik Karski, Aaron Cassidy and many others with the ensemble. Peter was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia, leaving at the age of 17 to pursue studies in Germany.
Peter was a member of ensemble recherche (1986-94) and is currently a member of musikFabrik (Germany). He is active as a soloist, chamber musician, lecturer, author ("The Techniques of Oboe Playing" – written together with Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf), and as editor of the series "Contemporary Music for Oboe".
More than 50 works have been composed for Peter Veale to date.
