Premiere performance


Opening of the Mouth was presented as part of the The Festival of Perth 1997, and premiered at 20:00 on the 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th March 1997, within and around the

Foundry of the Midland Railway Workshops, Montreal Road East, off Lloyd Street, Midland, Perth, Western Australia.


Fragments of Opening of the Mouth were performed as scherbentöne … ausgewirbelt at the Goethe Institut-Sydney on 11th and 12th March 1997.


Subsequent performances


ELISION Ensemble premiered Opening of the Mouth in Europe in spring 1998 with concert performances in Brussels and Bremen. The Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival chose the work as part of their Richard Barrett portrait in 2009.
